DISCOVER YOUR STRENGHTHS

VIA Character Strengths Survey

The VIA Survey is a scientific survey of character strengths to discover your greatest strengths. Research shows that knowing and using your character strengths can help you increase happiness and well-being, find meaning and purpose, boost relationships, manage stress and health, and accomplish goals.

Big Five Personality Traits Quiz

After taking this Big Five Personality Traits Quiz, you will receive a personalized report helping you develop your self-awareness, improve your relationships, manage stress, and value your identity. It measures five broad personality dimensions: Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Neuroticism.

Enneagram Personality Test

The Enneagram Personality Test  classifies individuals into one of nine personality types based on their core motivations and fears. It is often used for personal growth, interpersonal relationships, and spiritual development.

NEURODIVERSITY TESTS & ASSESSMENTS

Short Autism Assessment Spectrum Quotient (AQ-10)

The Autism Spectrum Quotient-10 (AQ-10) is a shorter version (10 statements) of the original Autism Spectrum Quotient (AQ), which is a self-administered questionnaire designed to measure autistic traits in adults. The questions cover various aspects related to social interactions, communication, attention to detail, and sensory sensitivity.

Autism Assessment Spectrum Quotient (AQ)

The Autism Spectrum Quotient (AQ) is a self-report questionnaire (50 statements) designed to measure autistic traits in adults. It covers various aspects related to social skills, communication, attention to detail, and sensory sensitivity.

Systemizing Quotient–Revised (SQ-R)

The Systemizing Quotient-Revised (SQ-R) is a self-report questionnaire (75 statements) designed to measure an individual's tendency or aptitude for systemizing. Systemizing refers to the drive to analyze, understand, and build systems—whether they be mechanical, abstract, or rule-based.

The Ritvo Autism Asperger Diagnostic Scale-Revised (RAADS-R)

The Ritvo Autism Asperger Diagnostic Scale-Revised (RAADS-R) is a self-report questionnaire (78 statements) designed to assist in the assessment of adults for autism spectrum conditions. The RAADS-R covers various domains associated with autism spectrum conditions, including social interactions, communication, sensory sensitivity, and repetitive behaviors.

NEURODIVERSITY TESTS & ASSESSMENTS CON'T

Repetitive Behaviours Questionnaire (RBQ-2A)

The Adult Repetitive Behaviors Questionnaire-2 (RBQ-2A) is a self-administered questionnaire (20 statements) that measures restricted and repetitive behaviors in adults.  It tests one of the core diagnostic criteria for autism, which is restricted and repetitive behaviors such as finding comfort in routines and consistency, interests and movements such as rocking, ritualistic behaviors, and sensory sensitivities.

Aspie Quiz

The Aspie Quiz is a self-assessment tool (119 questions) designed to help individuals explore and understand their neurodivergent traits, particularly those associated with Asperger's Syndrome or high-functioning autism.  The quiz consists of a series of questions covering various aspects of behavior, communication, social interaction, and sensory experiences. After clicking on "Accept," you'll be directed to the quiz.

Empathy Quotient (EQ)

The Emotional Quotient (EQ) has 60 statements and is not specifically designed for autism assessment but is actually a measure of emotional intelligence rather than autism-related traits. Emotional intelligence encompasses a person's ability to understand, manage, and navigate their own emotions and the emotions of others.

NEURODIVERGENT MASKING QUESTIONNAIRE

Camouflaging Autistic Traits Questionnaire (CAT-Q)

The Camouflaging Autistic Traits Questionnaire (CAT-Q) is a self-report (25 statements) measure of social camouflaging or "masking" behaviors in adults. It can be used to identify autistic individuals who do not currently meet diagnostic criteria due to their ability to "mask" their autistic proclivities.

Understanding Masking in Autism

Masking involves the conscious or unconscious effort to hide or suppress autistic traits in social situations, often to fit in and adapt to social norms. It can make it challenging for others to recognize the individual's autism characteristics.

Key points about masking in autism:

  • Concealing Autistic Traits: Masking involves concealing or suppressing behaviors associated with autism, such as repetitive movements, intense interests, difficulties in social communication, or sensory sensitivities.
  • Social Mimicry: Individuals who mask may engage in social mimicry, imitating the behaviors and expressions of those around them. This mimicry can help navigate social situations more smoothly but may require significant effort and energy.
  • Adaptation and Coping: Masking is often seen as an adaptive strategy for coping with social expectations and minimizing the potential for social rejection or misunderstanding. It may be a conscious effort or an automatic response to societal pressure.
  • Challenges and Consequences: While masking can help individuals navigate social situations, it can come with challenges and consequences. The effort expended in masking can be mentally and emotionally draining, leading to stress and burnout. It may also contribute to delayed or missed autism diagnoses, especially in individuals assigned female at birth.
  • Impact on Mental Health: Long-term masking can impact mental health, contributing to anxiety, depression, and a sense of identity loss. It's essential for individuals on the autism spectrum to have support and understanding to navigate social interactions without excessive masking if they choose to do so.

Understanding and supporting individuals who engage in masking is crucial for fostering an inclusive and supportive environment. It's important to recognize and respect their autonomy in choosing when and how they engage in social behaviors while also creating spaces where authenticity is valued.
